Rich Logis is a former MAGA activist turned outspoken critic of the movement, best known as the author of One Betrayal Too Many: Why I Left MAGA, a memoir documenting his seven year journey into—and eventual break from—the MAGA world. The book offers guidance for those who want to leave MAGA and for families trying to help loved ones trapped in extremist politics and includes a foreword by former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger.
He is an American political commentator, former MAGA activist, and founder of Leaving MAGA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people disengage from extremist political communities. His work focuses on political deradicalization, accountability, and rebuilding democratic norms. The organization is explicitly nonpartisan, welcoming conservatives, moderates, and progressives alike.
He has been featured on PBS, CNN, MSNBC, CSPAN, The 11th Hour, Adam Kinzinger’s interview series and major international outlets, and has contributed commentary to outlets such as the MeidasTouch Network. He frequently speaks across the country about political polarization and disinformation. He was a speaker at the DNC Convention in 2024 and supported Kamala Harris.
